Vaniköy Mosque was built in the 17th century by Vani Mehmed in 1665-66 (1076 by the Islamic Calendar) during the reign of Mehmed IV. The fire of 2020 destroyed most of the Vaniköy Mosque. The wooden roof and the muezzin mahfil were completely burned down, and the interior spaces of the sultan's pavilion became unusable. Using the original details that remained after the fire, the Kalyon Foundation is currently restoring the Vaniköy Mosque while staying true to its original form.
